Multi-scale modeling

1
Development of CPFEM for HCP metals
Representative volume element is developed from EBSD data texture. Using crystal plasticity finite element modeling simulation, stress-strain response and slip/twin activity are analyzed.
2
Crystal plasticity modeling of additively manufactured nickel-based superalloy
- Additive manufactured metals show unique microstructures. Multi-scale and micro-scale modeling of AM metals are developed using crystal plasticity finite element method to predict macroscopic properties based on microscopic physical phenomena.

3
Multi-scale optimization of electrode calendaring process: integrated FEM and DEM
This study aims to develop a multiscale simulation framework that captures the deformation history and microstructural evolution induced by electrode calendering, and quantifies the resulting property changes.
